I love animals, especially big cats and it was always my dream of going to Africa. I had my first experience two years ago when I travelled to Kenya, it was a fantastic experience. I was so happy that I decided to go again but this time I wanted to be in contact with wildlife so I searched on the internet and found many different places.
This experience was a great choice, the staff at Moholoholo was absolutely wonderful, helpful and kind. I stayed at the lodge and there was nothing better than seeing wild animals going past in the afternoon, from the comfort of your porch. When I arrived I received lots of information and guidance from the staff and from other volunteers, I liked the organisation in groups. I met volunteers from many parts of the world but I was the only one from Chile! I will remember from the bottom of my heart being in direct contact with the animals I took care of, giving bottles to baby impalas or being a babysitter to others.
I really got to understand the damage to the world we as humans are doing and how we are seriously affecting the wildlife. So although I was very happy in many ways, in other ways I was very sad to realise how we are leaving smaller and smaller spaces for wildlife. This really broke my heart.
I was really taken care of by the ACE staff on my arrival and when on my return home!
